Middle school students recently visited the care centers in Omro to spread holiday cheer. As members of the Holiday Club they made snowmen jars to give to the care centers as table decorations, played carols and performed poems and readings for the residents. Students also took time with some residents to create a snowman craft together. All middle school students colored door decorations that were given to each facility in hopes of brightening their space. It was a special day for all involved.

The School District of Omro would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season!

Mrs. Morse's Culinary Arts class was asked to help cater cupcakes for the "Beary-Foxy" Festive Holiday Event held at Menominee Park Zoo on Sunday, December 15.
The class baked 12 dozen cupcakes and decorated them to represent the new additions joining the zoo- Mr. Reeves (black bear) and Mellie, Joey, and Apollo (3 feisty foxes).
It was a great experience for the students and a nice opportunity to help give back to the community.

The School District of Omro will have no school for students and teachers from December 23, 2024 through January 1, 2025.
We look forward to welcoming students back into the buildings on January 2!

STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Omro High School selects a senior student each month to be the Student of the Month. Seniors are selected for their academic successes, leadership abilities, citizenship, and extracurricular activities. The seniors who are selected for this honor are also invited to attend an American Legion meeting for recognition by the sponsoring organization and may go on the ballot to be a graduation speaker.
The December Student of the Month is Kayannah.
Throughout high school, Kayannah has been a part of Cross Country, Sources of Strength, Key Club, National Honor Society, Book Club, and Battle of the Books. She has also volunteered at blood drives, trick or treating for canned goods, highway cleanups, STEAM Nights, Field Days, and Ascension Mercy Hospital.
Outside of school, Kayannah enjoys playing the trumpet, reading, writing, and volunteering.
After graduation, she plans to attend a college on her list and major in Neurobiology.

What is the Omro Key Club, and Why Are 96 Students All In for 2024-2025?
The Omro Key Club isn’t just a club—it’s a movement of young leaders making a difference! This year, 96 Omro High School students have joined forces to create a powerhouse of community service, passion, and teamwork. 🙌🏻
Why?
Because they know the value of stepping up and giving back!
Here are some of the things Omro Key Club sponsors/supports:
🩸 Blood drives (in partnership with the Red Cross)
❤️🩹Heart disease awareness / volleyball tournament and money donation to the American Heart Association
🗑️ Co sponsors 2-3 highway cleanups a year with the National Honor Society (NHS)
📚 Some Key Club members are tutors!
📍 Help with a variety of local events, such as - OACCM halloween spooktacular, breakfast with Santa, breakfast with the bunny, Waukau chicken BBQ, and much more!
Key Club members dive into each opportunity with heart and enthusiasm!
By serving, these students gain so much in return. They discover how to tackle real-world challenges, create meaningful change, and grow into confident, compassionate leaders. Plus, research backs it up—students who dedicate time to service often perform better in school. It’s a win-win!
And let’s not forget the leadership skills! Whether leading a service project, planning a social event, or taking part in club functions, every activity builds their ability to inspire, organize, and create lasting impact.
Stay tuned for updates as we shine a spotlight on the incredible community service projects these inspiring Omro students are taking on this year.
Together, they’re proving that teamwork, service, and dedication can make the world a better place—one project at a time! 🌟💪

The National Honor Society executive board started a new tradition this year! They chose 4 students to adopt & shop for through the Christmas Crusade program sponsored by Form the Family (previously the Winnebago County Foster Closet) which is a non profit based in Oshkosh.
NHS members met after school to shop and select gifts for the kids. Thank you Liam, Ariana, Holly, and Makenna for each leading a shopping group!

Students in Mrs. Sweeting's class turned their classroom into multiple forts as an acknowledgement of great behavior after filling a Fox Paw chart. Way to go!
