Thank you to our Anchor Partners!

Congratulations to OMS and OHS Fox Friday winners from December 20, 2024! These students were nominated by staff members or other students for demonstrating the Fox Four (Safety, Responsibility, Respect, or Positivity).
Staff members were nominated by students or other staff members for being a role model, an advocate for students, or having a positive connection with students.

Book Club had a holiday party in late December, where books were exchanged and many snacks were consumed! There are a lot of new members this school year, so the party provided an opportunity to build connection.

Students in Mrs. Morse's 7th Grade Family and Consumer Sciences class are talking about caring for Infants. They had the opportunity to take care of "Baby Macy" -- a baby simulator. They needed to figure out why she was crying and care for her accordingly.

Prior to winter break, senior band members visited the elementary schools to play music for them. Students of all ages had a great time playing and singing along!

In our 4K program, every activity is packed with purpose! We know that play isn’t just fun—it’s a critical part of learning.
When children engage in pretend play, they’re developing creativity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to express themselves.
Here’s what we learn:
🔠 Blocks - encourage pattern recognition, teamwork, and critical thinking.
💦 Water - teaches concepts like sinking, floating, and evaporation while strengthening coordination and introducing math fundamentals like volume and weight.
🔍 Exploring - sparks curiosity and helps kids observe textures, colors, and sizes while learning to group objects.
✏️ Drawing - teaches fine motor skills, self-expression, and creativity.
Most importantly, we learn that trying new things can be fun! We are proud to provide an environment that fosters these skills and supports each child’s academic journey!
Don’t miss out on the 2025-2026 4K program; registration will open soon!
Please share this post and tell others with 4K age level kids about the Omro 4K Program!

Biology Students Become Microscope Experts
Sophomores at OHS had fun learning how to use microscopes in the lab. They can make their own slides, stain specimens for viewing, and observe the behavior of living microorganisms. One student made a slide of the underside of a fern leaf and captured beautiful plant cells.

They research how countries across the world celebrate the holidays, they used their STEM knowledge to build the tallest free standing Christmas tree out of spaghetti noodles, marshmallows, and tape, they used their creative talents to make ornaments, and they used their math knowledge to put together tangram designs.

The "Pretzel Burger" earned top honors created by Haley, Ellie, and Julia. Congratulations to all!

AP Biology students flexed their microbiology muscles by performing a bacterial transformation experiment. Using biotechnology used by scientists, students genetically modified bacteria with a jellyfish gene that allows them to glow in UV light.
ALL labs groups successfully cultured glowing bacteria that look ready for a dance party!
