Tomatoes from Space
Omro High School Plant Club collected data for the Tomatosphere Project. We were sent two packets of tomato seeds: one contained seeds that spent two months on the international space station and the other contained normal, earth-bound seeds. We germinated both types of seeds and sent the results (germination rates) back to project scientists. Tomatosphere seeks to gather data on the effects of space travel on seeds. Plant club members will be able to take home the tomato plants for their own gardens. Omro Foxes are proud to contribute to scientific research.
