Omro High School selects a senior student each month to be the Student of the Month. Seniors are selected for their academic successes, leadership abilities, citizenship, and extracurricular activities. The seniors who are selected for this honor are also invited to attend an American Legion meeting for recognition by the sponsoring organization and may go on the ballot to be a graduation speaker.
The January Student of the Month is Madelynn.
Throughout high school, Madelynn has been involved in Volleyball, Powerlifting, Softball, Sources of Strength, National Honor Society, FFA, and 4-H. She can also be found managing the high school wrestling team during the winter sports season, or working as a camp counselor for 4-H over the summer..
Outside of school, Madelynn enjoys reading, showing animals, and photography.
After graduation, she plans to attend UW-Stevens Point and major in Health Science and Wellness.

Last week, staff at OMS participated in a week of "Secret Dress Up Days". Throughout the halls, staff could hear students begin to wonder why everyone was wearing monochromatic colors on Monday, buttons on Tuesday, Omro apparel on a Wednesday, and plaid/flannel on Thursday, and workout wear on Friday.
As a surprise, and an acknowledgement of the student's powers of observation, they were tasked with trying to remember the various dress up theme days throughout the week and given a special treat for trying.
Thanks to the OMS Engagement Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) team for putting together this fun event!

Mrs. Morse's World of Children class recently were in the Food's Lab preparing healthy snacks for Preschoolers. The students were assigned a lesson plan theme to follow, had to keep in mind MyPlate, and needed to be aware of foods that can cause concerns to children, such as allergies and choking hazards.
