February is Winter Walk to School month where walking and outdoor activity is encouraged all month long. Middle and High School Students who participate in Winter Walk to School Month can enter to win PRIZES every week!
Week 1: February 1st - 10th: Give Your Heart a Gift
A great outdoor activity to remember to keep our hearts healthy is an outdoor walk. Get outside this week and go for a stroll. Students can keep track of their walks with the activity log shared this week in their email.
Did you know that walking outside in winter can wake up your immune system? 30-45 minutes of moderate aerobic activity each day can help you fight off those pesky winter colds.

Thank you to the Omro community who attended Omro Foxes Night at The Herd in January. The Omro Middle School Engagement Committee organized the event as a fun evening to share with our community. At The Herd game the high school band played pre-game pep band, the high school choir sang our national anthem, and the high school dance team performed a routine at half time. It was an entertaining evening for everyone involved.

High school music theory students wrote a story and then composed a piece of music that used different elements of music to help tell their story.

On January 17, Mrs. Babcock's second grade class had a presentation on Australian culture. Her friend, an Aussie native, shared aspects of her country including climate, animals, food, money, books, lingo, history, exports, the meaning of the flag, and much more. It was bonza!

Best wishes on a great competition!

Meme Recreation Alert! This photo, taken a couple of weeks ago during a powerlifting practice, of Mason, Erick, and Keefer shows them re-creating a Spiderman meme that has floated around social media the past few years. Love to see all three of them wearing their state powerlifting competition shirts from the 2022-'23 season!

Notice of Annual Three-Year-Old Screening
The School District of Omro will be conducting a three-year-old developmental screening on Monday, February 26, 2024 at HB Patch Elementary from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children who will turn 3 years of age by September 1, 2024 and reside within the School District of Omro boundaries are eligible to be screened. The screening is offered annually to look at the areas of fine and gross motor skills, basic school readiness skills, speech sound production and communication. If a child is found to have significant delays after being further evaluated, programming such as the Early Childhood program or Speech and Language therapy may be recommended.
A letter and questionnaire about children’s development were sent to parents of children who are on the district's census list and within the screening age. If you did not receive a letter and questionnaire for your child, please contact Jaime Ellison at (920) 303-2300 x2249 or complete the screening questionnaire online at https://www.asqonline.com/family/5b4d1d. Appointments are needed to attend the screening. Please note that we do not screen children who do not currently live within the School District of Omro boundaries, even if you intend to apply for open enrollment for your child in the future. Contact your district of residence to inquire about their screening process.
