Literacy Night is March 14 from 5:30-7:30 pm; mark your calendars now!
Omro Family Literacy Night, at Omro Elementary, welcomes all School District of Omro students and families. You won't want to miss out on being one of the hundreds of attendees at this year's event!

Recently, AP Biology students investigated how cells maximize their surface area to volume ratio using agar blocks as model cells. The "cells" were made with a chemical that changes color in response to pH. The students had to creatively modify their model cells to allow for more diffusion/color change.

Ms. Downs' third grade class has been working hard on following the Fox Four expectations. To celebrate their hard work and filling a couple more Fox Paw charts, they had a PJ, Movie, and Fort Day! Great job third graders!

4k students had their annual "Paper Mache Day" earlier in November. They each received a balloon and covered it with a layer of newspaper and then a layer of brown paper, all held together with goop!
Then they had their foot traced to cut out, which enabled them to make the turkey head by adding eyes, a beak, and a wattle.
They each had to tell 5 things they were thankful for to add to each feather.
We would like to thank the moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, and big brothers who came to help!
A special thanks to Mrs. Potratz, Officer Peeters, and Mrs. Bernier for stopping by to get messy with us!

Congratulations to Mason, who was selected by Mr. Goryl, to be a 2023-2024 Quarter 1 CTE Student Spotlight for the Business Department!

Students in Mrs. Morse's Food, Family & Society and Culinary Arts classes volunteered to help assist the Omro Area Community Center in baking cookies for their Breakfast with Santa event held on November 25. The classes prepared the dough, cut out, and baked over 14 dozen cookies for this annual event.

On November 15, members of the Spanish Club went to a Yolotl Hearts workshop at the Latino Arts Community Center in Milwaukee. They learned about the history of the hearts, starting with the original painting by Pompeo Batoni in 1767, then brought to the new world by Catholic Missionaries. Nowadays, the hearts, commonly called Milagros, or Miracles, are often symbolic of something a person is thankful for or worried about. They are just as commonly used simply as a decoration. Students had the opportunity to paint their own hearts, and they did an outstanding job! Their creativity and artistic ability impressed Jessica, our teacher for the day.

Building Brighter Smiles will be in Omro this week! They will be at H.B. Patch on Tuesday (November 28) and Omro Elementary on Tuesday and Wednesday (November 28 and 29).
If you would like to enroll, there is more information to find out by using the QR code on the flyer below.
