Today, Wednesday, August 27, 2025, is the first Early Release Wednesday of the school year.
Students will be released from the buildings at the following times:
~ H.B. Patch: 10:10 am for morning 4K and 1:40 pm for all other learners
~ OES: 1:47 pm
~ OMS: 2:00 pm
~ OHS: 2:00 pm
On Wednesdays, professional staff stay at school and engage in professional learning. Time on Wednesdays is structured and may include items such as Building Level Collaborations, Plan Do Study Act Collaborations, Grade Level/Department Collaborations, and time dedicated to Educator Effectiveness.

Who: All in the Omro community are invited
What: OES Ground Breaking Ceremony
Where: South Side of OES. If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in the OES Commons
When: 5:00 pm on September 3, 2025
Why: Celebrate the upcoming full day 4K opportunity and the ongoing support our community shows for the School
District of Omro.

This week, our buildings were full of staff preparing to welcome students back into our buildings next week.
Prior to the first day of school on Thursday, August 21, we encourage families to attend the Open House event at your learner's building on Tuesday, August 19, from 4:00-6:00 pm. See the building newsletters that have been shared for more information.

Student Orientation for Sixth Graders

OMS Gym
Our orientation program at OMS joins together small teams of 6th graders with trained 8th grade Peer Leaders to help make the 6th graders’ transition to middle school more positive, welcoming, and enjoyable!
During Orientation, 6th graders, along with their Peer Leaders, will participate in large and small group activities that are designed to address students’ needs and concerns about starting middle school. 6th graders will also receive their schedules, practice opening their locker, and take a tour of the school. It will be a fun afternoon of activities!
Students will meet in the OMS gym. Drop off and pick up will be in the OMS parking lot.
The district Open House will be directly following Orientation Day from 4-6pm!

The beginning of August has us all feeling excited to welcome students back to the buildings! Summer is a busy time of year, especially with the passage of a referendum. We invite you to read the shared Referendum Project Update to find out more about some of what has been taking place this summer.

OoMPA (Omro Music Parents Association) is hosting a golf scramble on Saturday, July 12, at Utica Golf Club in Oshkosh, and there are openings for teams!
Each team of four will golf 18 holes, have a cart, and two drink tickets per person, hole events, and dinner after.
Additionally, there will be raffle baskets, in which participants or other attendees can win!
Gather up a team and have a great day of golf and fun, or stop by and win some amazing prizes, all while supporting School District of Omro music students and programs!
