A group of Mr. Schumacher’s AP World class took a trip to Germany over spring break.
Their first stop was Munich, the capital of Bavaria. They first took a walking tour of the city and saw many famous sites, including the Glockenspiel and the Frauenkirche. Students then visited Dachau Concentration Camp where they spent time to reflect on the dark and important history that happened there.
On the second day in Munich students began by touring BMW World. They then visited the famous Hofbrauhaus, spent time in the local markets, and visited museums at the Residenz. Some students also participated in a biking tour through the English Garden.
On their final day in Munich, students took an excursion into the Alps to see Mad King Ludwig’s Linderhof palace. Students then explored and shopped in the famous Bavarian village of Oberammergau, which is known for wood carving, painted houses, and a passion play that has been running for centuries.
The group then headed off to Berlin to learn more about Germany’s history in the 20th Century.

On Friday, March 14, some members of the OHS Spanish Club went to a Latin Dance Workshop at the Latino Arts Community Center in Milwaukee. Under the direction of Karlies Kelley, Director of Panadanza Dance Company, students learned about the different influences and moves of Salsa dancing. They had a lot of fun learning the dance, and after working up an appetite, enjoyed some excellent Mexican food at Botana's Restaurant.

In today’s world, knowing another language opens so many doors—that’s why our foreign language courses go beyond just vocabulary and grammar. Students don’t just learn how to speak another language—they connect with new people, explore different cultures, and gain valuable skills that last a lifetime. 💬💡
From the very first class, students are engaged in hands-on learning that makes language exciting. As they progress, they dive deeper into cultural traditions, global perspectives, and real-world communication skills that extend far beyond the classroom. By the time they reach the advanced levels, they’re not just speaking another language, they’re gaining a broader view of the world. 🗺️
And the impact doesn’t stop at graduation. Many of our alumni have traveled the world, studied abroad, and used the knowledge they gained here to take their next big steps. Whether they’re working internationally, building new friendships, or simply navigating new experiences, the time spent here has been helping them every step of the way.

On Monday, March 10, Sources of Strength hosted a school-wide Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament to bring everyone together and have some fun.
Students got a beaded necklace when they arrived at school in the morning. They played R-P-S during passing time and lunch to win the beads of their opponent. Students had to have at least 5 necklaces to challenge a staff member. At the end of the day, the whole school cheered on the top 16 winners for the tournament. Grant Fink was the gracious champion of a $20 Kwik Trip gift card.
Fun was had by all.

The Art Walk is scheduled for April 10, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm. Please join us for an evening celebrating our Omro artists!

AP Biology students recently made working models of cell communication pathways and then put their phones to educational use making stop motion animations of their models in action.
It was a fun way to learn about complex processes.
