At the beginning of May, our Middle School Battle of the Books team went on a field trip to celebrate their hard work this season. Macy, Lydia, and Hailey represented Omro Middle School in the Final State Test for Battle of the Books where they competed against 165 other teams in Wisconsin.
On their field trip, they visited H.B. Patch Elementary where they read to Ms. Martin and Ms. Bahr’s classrooms. After visiting HB Patch they went to a movie, lunch and ended their day at Barnes and Noble where they picked out new books for our school library. Great job this Battle of the Books Season team!
For students interested in competing next school year in Battle of the Books, keep a lookout for the book list which will be released on June 1st. You can also visit WEMTA's website for more information: https://sites.google.com/wemta.org/battle/home?pli=1

Students in Mrs. Morse's 7th Grade Family and Consumer Sciences class have recently begun their mini unit on Child Development. As part of learning about Infants and how to care for them, students had the opportunity to take care of "Baby Macy"-- an Infant Simulator. When the baby cried, the students had to come care for her and figure out why she was crying.

Wednesday, May 8th Omro Middle School and High School Students participated in National Bike to School Day. There were snacks and chances to win prizes for all who walked or biked to school that day. At the end of the day, students were encouraged to stop by the Omro Community Bike Shoppe where the fun continued. Students rode their bikes and completed a scavenger hunt on the school grounds. When they were done, students blended up some tasty lemonade slushies with our human-powered bike blender. To finish off the afternoon, students participated in a turtle bike race (the slowest person won) and more prizes were handed out.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this event and our friends at Eastern Wisconsin Safe Routes to School!
