Last week, staff at OMS participated in a week of "Secret Dress Up Days". Throughout the halls, staff could hear students begin to wonder why everyone was wearing monochromatic colors on Monday, buttons on Tuesday, Omro apparel on a Wednesday, and plaid/flannel on Thursday, and workout wear on Friday. As a surprise, and an acknowledgement of the student's powers of observation, they were tasked with trying to remember the various dress up theme days throughout the week and given a special treat for trying. Thanks to the OMS Engagement Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) team for putting together this fun event!

The 7th grade ELA classes put on a Poetry Showcase/Readers' Theatre for staff and numerous other OMS and OHS classes. This has been an ongoing tradition for the past 5 years where 7th grade students work together to bring literature to life! The poems presented this year were: "Our Generation" by Jordan Nichols, "The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, "I'm In Charge of Celebrations" by Byrd Baylor, and "Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Clement Clark Moore. Nice job, 7th graders!

Students in Mrs. Morse's 7th Grade Family and Consumer Sciences class are talking about caring for Infants. They had the opportunity to take care of "Baby Macy" -- a baby simulator. They needed to figure out why she was crying and care for her accordingly.

In our 4K program, every activity is packed with purpose! We know that play isn’t just fun—it’s a critical part of learning. When children engage in pretend play, they’re developing creativity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to express themselves. Here’s what we learn: 🔠 Blocks - encourage pattern recognition, teamwork, and critical thinking. 💦 Water - teaches concepts like sinking, floating, and evaporation while strengthening coordination and introducing math fundamentals like volume and weight. 🔍 Exploring - sparks curiosity and helps kids observe textures, colors, and sizes while learning to group objects. ✏️ Drawing - teaches fine motor skills, self-expression, and creativity. Most importantly, we learn that trying new things can be fun! We are proud to provide an environment that fosters these skills and supports each child’s academic journey! Don’t miss out on the 2025-2026 4K program; registration will open soon! Please share this post and tell others with 4K age level kids about the Omro 4K Program!

The sixth graders spent the day before holiday break experiencing some hands-on learning. They research how countries across the world celebrate the holidays, they used their STEM knowledge to build the tallest free standing Christmas tree out of spaghetti noodles, marshmallows, and tape, they used their creative talents to make ornaments, and they used their math knowledge to put together tangram designs.
