Ground Breaking Ceremony

Omro Elementary School to Host Groundbreaking Ceremony September 3

Omro, WI – The School District of Omro invites families, staff, and community members to a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the upcoming addition to Omro Elementary School (OES) on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM.

The ceremonial event will take place on the south side of OES, the future site of the new addition. Attendees will hear brief remarks from district leaders and key stakeholders, followed by a shovel-turn. No RSVP is required, and all are welcome to attend. Parking will be available in the main lot. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the OES commons.

This celebration marks the beginning of Phase 1 construction projects made possible by the successful November 2024 facilities and operational referenda. The district is deeply grateful for the community’s strong support, which is allowing Omro schools to address aging infrastructure, ease overcrowding at H.B. Patch Elementary, and add learning spaces.

Phase 1 projects include the construction of a full-day 4K classroom and multipurpose spaces at OES, as well as a new outdoor concession stand and restrooms at Omro High/Middle School. These improvements are expected to be completed by fall 2026.

“This groundbreaking represents more than just the start of a construction project—it’s a reflection of our community’s shared commitment to education,” said Dr. Jay Jones, Superintendent of the School District of Omro. “Together, we’re building spaces that will support student learning and growth for years to come.”
