School is CANCELED on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, due to inclement weather.

Due to inclement weather, the School District of Omro is canceling all after school activities, including community groups that use our facilities, for Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Stay safe!

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Spring Break!
We are looking forward to welcoming students back into the building on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Plug your Chromebooks in tonight (Monday), so that they are fully charged and ready for a day of learning on Tuesday!

Right before spring break, Lindsay Loewe and Griffen, from Collaborative Wellness, came into Ms. Jentz’s Psychology class. Lindsay led a guided art therapy using the Don Jones Assessment. Students are currently learning about Memory & Cognition and this fit well with deepening understanding of how our memories and our cognitive processing helps us make decisions in different situations.

Mrs. Morse's high school Child Development class led a craft room at Literacy Night on March 14, 2024. Even Dr. Jones made a craft! 🙂

This week’s Omro Staff Spotlight features Mrs. Brooke Neubauer. She is an art teacher at OMS and OHS. Brooke is currently in her first year here in Omro, and her tenth year overall.
Other than art, Brooke enjoys reading and outdoor activities.
A favorite quote of Brooke’s is by Albus Dumbledore, “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Thank you, Mrs. Neubauer, for all you do for our students!

Earlier this month, some members from the FFA club went down to OES to help Mrs. Poppy with a couple of activities for the 4th and 5th graders. The 4th & 5th graders are working on the Ag Essay with the Topic of "Wisconsin is Fruit-Full". The high schoolers helped with making Mini Fruit Pizzas and Cranberry Soil Cups.

Students have been studying a food timeline in Mrs. Morse's Food, Family and Society class to see how food has transitioned and changed from early pioneer times to traditional, present times. Students recently had a lab in which they made homemade pizza making their own crust. Pride was shared by the students as they learned a new skill and enjoyed a treat made from scratch!

Students had the opportunity to participate in a "Fox Time with Griffin" experience recently at Omro High School. They reflected on and colored a feelings wheel and took time to pet Griffin as part of a program offered by Collaborative Wellness in partnership with Sources of Strength.

There is no school for students today (Friday, March 22) due to the end of the third quarter. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday, April 2, as our spring break will take place next week.

The Omro PTO has partnered with the Timber Rattlers for a great opportunity of supporting baseball and Omro Middle School! On Saturday, April 6, our very own Mrs. Sabel (OMS Counselor) will be participating in the Dash for Cash, trying to raise funds for OMS. In addition, $3 of every ticket purchased (on or before April 5, 2024 at 5:00 pm) through the link below will be added to the total donated to OMS.

State Representative Michael Schraa (from our local District 53rd Assembly) recently came and spoke to Ms. Jentz's Civics classes. After wrapping up their unit on State and Local Government, students had the opportunity to learn more about the daily life of a state representative, about legislative processes, what they are currently working on in the capital, and some Q&A time with Rep. Schraa. He also brought copies of this year's Wisconsin Blue Book for students to take for free. Many thanks to Rep. Schraa for taking time out of his schedule to enrich our students learning about State and Local Government!
