What is the Omro Key Club, and Why Are 96 Students All In for 2024-2025?
The Omro Key Club isn’t just a club—it’s a movement of young leaders making a difference! This year, 96 Omro High School students have joined forces to create a powerhouse of community service, passion, and teamwork. 🙌🏻
Why?
Because they know the value of stepping up and giving back!
Here are some of the things Omro Key Club sponsors/supports:
🩸 Blood drives (in partnership with the Red Cross)
❤️🩹Heart disease awareness / volleyball tournament and money donation to the American Heart Association
🗑️ Co sponsors 2-3 highway cleanups a year with the National Honor Society (NHS)
📚 Some Key Club members are tutors!
📍 Help with a variety of local events, such as - OACCM halloween spooktacular, breakfast with Santa, breakfast with the bunny, Waukau chicken BBQ, and much more!
Key Club members dive into each opportunity with heart and enthusiasm!
By serving, these students gain so much in return. They discover how to tackle real-world challenges, create meaningful change, and grow into confident, compassionate leaders. Plus, research backs it up—students who dedicate time to service often perform better in school. It’s a win-win!
And let’s not forget the leadership skills! Whether leading a service project, planning a social event, or taking part in club functions, every activity builds their ability to inspire, organize, and create lasting impact.
Stay tuned for updates as we shine a spotlight on the incredible community service projects these inspiring Omro students are taking on this year.
Together, they’re proving that teamwork, service, and dedication can make the world a better place—one project at a time! 🌟💪

Students in Mrs. Sweeting's class turned their classroom into multiple forts as an acknowledgement of great behavior after filling a Fox Paw chart. Way to go!

Shopping Day with Kids has a primary purpose of providing a memorable Christmas to children in our community who would otherwise not be getting much for Christmas. Every year, the 1st Saturday in December, a group of chaperones (mostly Omro High School students and a few Omro Staff) take approximately 30-60 children, grades 4k through five, shopping for themselves for clothing, toys and other items of their choice with money provided by donations to our group from the community. We start our day with a donated breakfast at Omro Elementary School while the students get to know their shopping buddy. Then we load buses for the shopping trip to Oshkosh. The group shops for one hour, then returns to school where all the gifts are wrapped and labeled and then a donated lunch is served.

Here in Omro, we believe early education is about more than academics—it’s about building confidence, enhancing social skills, and nurturing creativity. Our 4K program is something we are so proud of, and as a district, it’s our mission to create a supportive and engaging environment where children can truly thrive and grow as an individual. 🌱✨
With that, we understand that every child is unique, which is why our approach encourages children to work at their own pace while discovering new things. That’s why we use play-based learning combined with guided instruction to create an environment where children feel empowered to learn and grow. Who says learning can’t be fun? 👏🏻
Outside of the classroom, partnership with families is also at the heart of our 4K program. Parents are a child’s first and most important teachers, and we believe that by working together, we create a supportive network to guide your child on their academic journey. 📚❤️
Do you have a little one enrolled this year? We’d love to hear your favorite part of 4K here in Omro! Drop your answer in the comments down below! 💭

Congratulations to our Fox Paw winners from H.B. Patch and OES for the week ending on December 6, 2024. Thanks for exemplifying the Fox Four of being safe, responsible, respectful, and positive!

For the 2024-2025 school year, we would like to introduce/share about as many staff members as possible, as everyone has an integral role in our school community.
Staff were asked to share about themselves using a "6 word summary." Many staff this week asked their students to come up with their summary; read on to learn a bit more about third grade!

Balloons Over Broadway! Throughout the District, during the month of November, teachers used the same anchor text in very different ways!
Kindergarten and 1st grade students at HB Patch learned about the tradition of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. After listening to the story, Balloons over Broadway, a story that tells about a puppeteer and how his imagination invented the giant balloons that are now a part of the parade, students designed and made their own balloons. After they finished their creations, students paraded through the halls of Patch for all to see!
Over at OES, grade 5 began their unit by engaging in an interactive read aloud of "Baloons Over Broadway" and watching part of the 2023 Macy's Day Parade. Over the course of two weeks students used online and printed resources to research the history of the Macy's Day Parade, as well as history/information on a specific balloon that has been featured in the parade at any point from 1924 to 2023. 5th grade students turned their research into an informative essay which they took through the writing process. After their writing pieces were complete they designed and created a "flat stanley" model of the balloon they focused their research on.

Have you seen what the FabLab and Art Department has been up to lately?
Mr. Turner and Mrs. Benbo, along with their students, designed and developed a Fox mold. Once created, it was then painted by an Omro graduate to create this one-of-kind Fox that is proudly displayed in the OMS/OHS office.
Stay tuned for other exciting posts featuring the Omro FabLab!
