The School District of Omro is proud to share their achievement of Exceeding Expectations, as determined by the Overall Accountability Rating on the Department of Public Instruction's Report Card for the 2022-2023 school year. One celebration of our report card is that Omro showed more growth in English Language Arts and Math than 87.6% of districts in the state of Wisconsin. The District appreciates the great effort given by students, staff, families, and board members to support Learning and Academics. Great job, Foxes!

What began decades ago as a group of community leaders around a table with the goal of bringing some extra cheer to area students has become a tradition in Omro so heartfelt that those involved might say it starts their Christmas season. A combined effort of Omro School District Staff and high school students along with generous community supporters allow dozens of Omro students 4K through 5th grade, to once again be embraced with the true spirit of the season. Every year, a few weeks prior to Christmas, the students start their day enjoying a donated breakfast with their high school companion. Then they load donated buses from Lamers and head out to shop at Target for necessity items and a fun gift. The group shops for an hour and then returns to school to wrap their gifts and then they will enjoy a donated lunch from Piggly Wiggly and treats made by high school students and staff. This event is sponsored through fundraisers and personal donations from the Omro community and surrounding areas. The Shopping Day with Kids team wishes to thank everyone who has supported this event in the past and to all who continue to make this program successful. We are in need of monetary donations to continue this wonderful program. Donations are welcomed and accepted all year long. If you are interested in making a donation to this event, please make your donation out to Shopping Day with Kids and bring it to any school office or mail it to: Omro High School Re: Shopping Day with Kids 455 Fox Trail Omro, WI 54963

Mrs. Babcock's second grade class studied dinosaurs in science, and for a 100 chart celebration, her students spent time examining her fossil collection from all over the USA. They were in awe and wonder! It's always a great day to be a scientist!

Día de los Muertos is a colorful celebration and a time to remember loved ones. The holiday originated in Mexico, but is now celebrated all over Latin America on November 1-2. Some common elements include ofrendas or altars, calaveras de azúcar or sugar skulls, marigolds and pan de muerto. This year, Mrs. Babcock's second grade class had a special learning experience about Dia de los Muertos led by one of their classmates. Melissa and her mom made pan de muerto for the class to try, which is bread of the dead. Additionally, Melissa wrote a poem and read it to the class. What a leader! Way to shine Melissa!!
