OMS Builder's Club

Middle School years bridge the gap between childhood and young adulthood.  It is a crossroad in life.  Young people need and want new & exciting personal development challenges that lead to the fulfillment of a happy & productive life.  Builders Club helps build strong leaders for tomorrow...today.

Builders Club provides a way to form sound, personal values based in experiences in meaningful community-service activities.  The members learn by doing.  They learn organization, teamwork, and leadership.  But the most important lesson they learn is that individuals working together can and do make a difference to the world around them.

Builders Club is a program of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.  Kiwanis clubs sponsor Builders Clubs.  Kiwanis members recognize that young people today want to take an active role in solving problems and meeting needs of the world around them.

Whether the club is involved in a small project at school or is working with the community on a larger project, Builders Club can make their presence known.  The Omro Middle School Builders Club has been involved in these activities in the past: UNICEF Trick or Treating; Caps for the Cure - a statewide aid for childhood cancer; Shopping Day for Kids - local Christmas shopping; Day of Caring for the United Way; Pennies for Patients - Leukemia & Lymphoma; Food and Coat Drives; contributions to Omro Middle School - hall clocks, bathroom mirrors & benches; hallway painting & motivational posters, DVD/VCR, front school garden...sponsors school dances, concessions, and Spirit Days throughout the year.

Omro Middle School's Builders Club believes in these four core values:

Character Building: The ability to do the right thing, even when it might be the unpopular choice.

Leadership: The ability to listen, communicate, serve, and guide others.

Inclusiveness: Accepting and welcoming differences in other people.

Caring: The act of being concerned about or interested in other people or situations.
