Academic Bowl - Once each year, usually in March, a group of Omro students competes against students from surrounding schools in an academic competition. Small groups of students take individual tests in social studies, math, current events, English, and science. There is also a timed group portion to answer questions as quickly as possible. Advisor- Mrs. Kubiak & Mrs. Sundberg
Art Club - Art club is a dynamic group who do enrichment activities for themselves, the community, and the school district. They are in charge of the school store, run a coffee bar at school, and do other fundraising activities. The art club organizes trips to museums, create art projects, and generally have a good time! Advisor - Mrs. Kabat
Aviation Club - Restore a plane! Fly with experienced pilots! Learn about aviation and the many aviation related fields and hobbies that are out there.
Audio Visual Club (AV) - This club gives students the opportunity to learn more about the world of television production. They produce the Omro Chamber of Commerce show each month, tape special school events and meetings and create their own shows. Tasks include working as director, character generation, video production, camera operations, and audio production. Advisor - Mr. Hanson
Badger Boys/Badger Girls - Boys and girls from the junior class who rank in the top third academically are eligible to be selected by the staff to participate in a hands-on experience in citizenship that takes place either at UW-O, or Ripon College. Students are selected based on scholastic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and leadership. The students learn about local and state government during the week-long session.
Drama Club - This club produces our school play each year. There are opportunities for students to be involved in acting as well as the many behind the scenes activities like sound, lighting, and stage crew. Mrs. Miller and Ms. Pierstorff are our staff directors.
Equestrian Team- Our new team has club status. The students involved do a variety of equestrian related events at competitions around the state. You do not need to have a horse to participate, the team will try to find events for you to do to be an active member. Staff Advisor - Mr. Bohn
Forensics - The forensic season is from November to April. Students have the opportunity to perform speeches, play acting, group discussion, and poetry reading. Each of the eight meets happen on a Saturday, and students may qualify for the state meet by doing exceptionally well. Advisor - Mrs. Miller & Mrs. Sundberg
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) - FBLA is for high school students who are interested in a business-related career. It's goal is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. FBLA isn't just another student group; it gives you the competitive edge through career exploration, self-improvement, and community service opportunities. As a member of FBLA, you'll build your resume and enjoy special activities and travel. Advisor - Ms. Bishop
FFA - Is an organization that is open to any student grades 8-12 who have had at least one agriculture class. It is not just for farmers! It is a youth leadership organization with the Future Farmers of America as its roots. There are 6 officers of FFA who are elected by the officers from the previous year and then subject to acceptance by the alumni. Many members stay involved with FFA even after high school. There are various conferences and competitions available for students to attend and participate in. Advisor - Mr. Busse
History Club - Is a club designed to encourage an interest in history. Local history, U.S., and world events are all explored through discussions and hands on experiences. Advisor - Mr. Bohn
Key Club - a service organization tied to the Kiwanis club (adults) and Builders club (middle school), Key club is a service organization that helps the community. Some of the main activities that are done include: Blood drive, highway clean-up, Food drives, Talent show, Special Olympics backer, help Kiwanis with Chili supper and Chicken BBQ. There are activities each month, and students have a great deal of fun while helping others. Advisor - Mrs. Treu and Mr. Cross
Math Team - participates in math competitions at UW-Stevens Point, Milwaukee School of Engineering, and St. Norbert's college. Participants are invited to join the math team by their math teachers. The math team has a long history of excellence competing for OHS. Advisor - Mr. Franzke
National Honor Society - is an organization made up of students with at least a 3.0 gpa, who have displayed leadership, scholarship, service, and good character. Students are invited to apply if they have a 3.0 gpa, and need to complete an application process. Students who are not selected may be invited to re-apply the next year if their gpa is still at or above a 3.0. Advisor - Mr. Fowler
O-Club - students that earn their varsity letter are part of o-club.
Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) - this is a wellness group that consists of positive leaders, healthy choice makers, and students concerned with the well being of their school and community, Some of the activities that SADD helps with or sponsors are: Shopping Day with Kids, red ribbon week, and wellness presentations. We sponsor an elementary poster contest, attend conferences and workshops, and promote positive lifestyles within the school and community. Advisor - Mrs. Miller
Ski Club - Depending on weather- Ski Club goes skiing at various places on (usually on Sundays). Students pay their own ski and bus expenses. Supervision is supplied by school staff. Advisor - Mr. Busse
Spanish Club - Students in Spanish 3, 4, and 5 are allowed to participate in Spanish Club. The group goes on various field trips, has parties, and plans for a big trip every other year to a Spanish speaking country. Advisor - Mrs. Kennedy
Student Council - Student council is a form of student government. There is a President, VP, Secretary, and for members from each class who are elected by their classmates each spring. They are responsible for organizing events like Homecoming and Winterfest, helping with other events, and advising the principal on student concerns. There are meetings once a month, and opportunities to participate in various conferences. Student council members are expected to be excellent role models, and be willing to work at various events to organize it and get students involved. Advisor - Ms. Garvens/Mrs. Parkhurst
